BIG BERTHA MAGNET

Big Bertha is a very powerful magnet made from a material called neodymium which is the most magnetisable material on earth with a life span of approximately 100 years with no batteries to change or charge; it is classed as a permanent magnet.

Big Bertha Magnet should be used as a complimentary therapy, to boost the therapeutic effects of conventional medicine and treatments. Big Bertha Magnet can reduce your pain instantly, but normally easing can be experienced within thirty seconds to one minute. Longer lasting results can be achieved by wearing magnetic wrist products, which can provide therapeutic effects 24/7. Please consult your GP if you have persistent pain to get a diagnosis of what is causing the pain.

Please read the following instructions for use and the health and safety information before using Big Bertha Magnet. Please remember to drink plenty of water when you first start using any magnetic therapy products.

Important health and safety information

Liability

Magnets4Wellbeing does not accept responsibility for damage which is caused by improper handling or use of Big Bertha Magnet. With the purchase of this product you confirm that you have read, understood and acted upon the following warnings. If you are giving this product as a gift, please include this information sheet with the product.

Magnetically sensitive items

Neodymium magnets are much stronger than normal magnets. Keep a safe distance (of at least 200mm) between Big Bertha Magnet and all objects which could be damaged by magnetism including: mechanical watches, diskettes, heart pacemakers, insulin pumps, CRT monitors and televisions, credit cards, mobile phones and all other magnetically stored media.

Heart Pacemakers and Insulin Pumps

Keep magnets away from heart pacemakers and insulin pumps as the operation of these devices might be affected by the close proximity of magnets. This could be detrimental to the operation of these devices and to your health. Big Bertha Magnet should NOT be used during pregnancy.

Danger of breaking and chipping

Magnets which are allowed to collide together will break. It is important to protect your magnet from collision with other magnets or magnetic materials. A combination of massive acceleration and high forces will cause the magnet(s) to shatter or chip. Big Bertha Magnet is provided with a protective cap which should be put in place when the magnet is not in use. This will protect the magnet and reduce the magnetic power emitting from the magnet during storage.

NOT for use by Children – dangerous

Big Bertha Magnet is not a toy. Please keep out of reach of children under the age of 16. Children over 16 years of age can use Big Bertha Magnet under strict parental supervision and they must, as with all users, read these instructions and warnings carefully.

Nipping and Injury

When Big Bertha Magnet is brought close to metal materials it can be surprisingly powerful. Fingers can very quickly be trapped between the magnet and the metal materials, causing pain and sometimes blood blisters. Care must be taken when using Big Bertha Magnet near metal items to avoid injuries and damage to the magnet.

Instructions for Use

Very slowly and gently massage the area of pain with the flat round end of Big Bertha Magnet (the resin end) for approximately 5 minutes. If the pain persists continue to massage for up to 10 minutes. Occasionally benefits might not be felt until the following day.

Big Bertha Magnet is best applied over very thin clothing or a tissue or handkerchief to reduce friction. It is safe to also use directly on to the skin.

Big Bertha Magnet can be cleaned with a damp cloth but it must NOT be immersed in water or used in damp hot environments (such as steam rooms or saunas).

How does Big Bertha Work

There are many different views on how magnets work, but the following is the most common theory about how they work:

Magnetic devices increase blood flow, improving the transition of oxygen, nutrients and hormones around the body, ensuring they are distributed to the organs and tissues more effectively. During pain an electrochemical change takes place in the nervous system; this can be influenced by placing a magnet on the area of pain, stopping the signal reaching the brain.

Storage

When Big Bertha Magnet is not in use please store it in a safe place out of reach of children and away from magnetically sensitive items or materials as mentioned above.
